Before being able to sign new players, FC Barcelona will have to undertake some steps to mitigate their financial position and comply with the FFP rules that will allow them to return to the 1:1 status.

The non-payment of the €60 million promised by the German Libero Group had created a lot of problems for the Catalan club, but still, the Blaugranes are looking to be able to sign new players without any restrictions this summer.

For this purpose, Diario AS reports that Barcelona need around €30 million, which can return them to the 1:1 rule, and with this change in status, the Catalans can go into the market with greater peace of mind.

The Blaugranes are really close to this desired position, and this change has come only due to significantly reduced spending and a hefty increase in income. The Laporta administration has made sharp reductions in other sections of the club, like Basketball, while also closing Barca TV, and thus saving on the salaries of its various directors and workers.

There has also been a significant reduction in the wage bill of the footballing team, as this sum was decreased from €650 million to €450 million.

Similarly, the increase in income is also significant, and the Catalans are getting close to closing a new deal with one of their main sponsors, Nike, which would help the club’s coffers a great deal.

In fact, by bringing in around €100-150 million, this income will mean Barcelona are not exceeding their salary limit anymore and will allow the Catalans to go into the market without much financial juggling.

Furthermore, the club can also solve the problem of the default of €60 million on Barca Studios, which would further help their position in the transfer market.

Overall, there is a high degree of optimism in the Catalan club that they will come out of their economic crisis this summer.

The La Liga President has already hinted that Barcelona will have a comparatively easier path in the market this summer, but in addition to these sources of income, the Blaugranes will still have to generate more income from player sales or sponsorships to be able to make new signings. But the good news is that they will not be forced to part ways with important players to be able to do so.
