It’s been more than a couple of months since Hansi Flick was appointed as the new Barcelona head coach, succeeding Xavi Hernandez but he is yet to be presented officially or face the media until now.
The German coach has already started pre-season with the squad and preparations seem to be in full swing. Yet, fans are eagerly waiting for the day that the 59-year-old will be officially presented to the fans.
It was widely expected that the presentation would happen before the US pre-season tour and that does seem to be the case. As per SPORT, Hansi Flick’s presentation will be held on the 25th of July, 2024 at the Auditori 1899, which is three days from today.
The Auditori 1899 is one of the remaining facilities at Camp Nou which is undergoing massive structural changes. The report also adds that Flick will address the media for the first time on the same day at 13:00 CET after the training session concludes.
Flick’s initial days as Barcelona’s new coach seem to be promising. He has established himself as a coach who moves about closely with his players and his training methods seem to be different from that of his predecessors.
The ex-Bayern Munich coach has the experience of handling a big dressing room in the past. At Barcelona, he will get to work with a squad that is mixed with experience and youth and he will need to find a way to bring the best out of them.
The Catalan club is set to jet off to the US to continue their pre-season preparations. This tour will give Blaugrana fans an idea of how Flick plans to set his team up and what formation he decides to use.
The widespread expectation is that the German coach will bring his patented 4-2-3-1 formation to Barcelona. Regardless of the formation, the idea at the club will always be to play a brand of exciting, attacking football.
Flick will know very well that at Barcelona, it’s not just sufficient to win. It’s important that the team wins in style. This was one of the major criticisms against his predecessor Xavi under whom the team had many 1-0 wins that didn’t sit well with the supporters. Let’s hope Flick can set the team up in a way that excites fans in the upcoming season and hopefully, in the years to come.
