Whenever FC Barcelona is involved, there is usually always some controversy or drama there. The Catalan club is among the biggest sporting entities in global sports, so they understandably tend to become the focus of a lot of news. However, sometimes no surprises are a good thing for Barcelona.

With 2023 having come to a close, Barcelona need to turn things around in 2024. Even as it is, La Blaugrana have several key players currently sidelined due to injuries. It is almost as if bad omens seem to follow the Catalan giants around when they need their players the most.

Gavi’s injury with Spain, alongside Ter Stegen’s with Germany, were just a few of the unwanted casualties. Even Inigo Martinez, just as he had become a guaranteed starter for Xavi, also had to be sidelined. Ultimately, a training session without any unfortunate surprises is welcomed with open arms.

Luckily for Barcelona, that is exactly what happened in the first training session of 2024. As highlighted by SPORT, there were no ‘surprises’ for Barcelona in Xavi’s latest training session. All the available players were present, and they completed the session without any issues.

Usually, even besides just injuries, Barcelona also end up facing other inconveniences. Certain players miss trainings for personal reasons, others for sickness, but fortunately the start to 2024 was a bright one. The first team was also joined by five very talented youngsters from the subsidiary.

Ander Astralaga, Pau Cubarsi, Hector Fort, Pau Prim, and Albert Navarro, all took part in the latest training session. Navarro, in particular, was a special inclusion. A talented 16-year-old fullback, he promises to be an exciting talent to keep an eye out for.

This non-stop training schedule continues, and despite its possible physical toll, the players seem fine for now. Las Palmas is the first hurdle ahead on the 4th of January, and Barcelona will hope to fly over it with a strong display.
