Several changes took place in the FC Barcelona attacking line during the last summer transfer window. Some players who had a prominent role in the squad last season, like Joao Felix, left the club, while other new players were introduced, including Pau Victor and Dani Olmo.

Another addition to the Blaugranes’ attacking line was that of Ansu Fati, who had spent the last season playing for the Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion and returned to Barcelona at the end of the last season.

Despite showing some promising signs, the Spaniard was unable to get the desired returns from this loan stint, especially because of a serious muscle injury. At the start of this season, a good opportunity arose for him with the change in the management at Barcelona, and Fati looked to take advantage of the situation by impressing Hansi Flick.

However, he suffered another injury right before the pre-season tour of the USA, and this kept him from impressing the new Barcelona coach. On the other hand, this injury also kept him at the club as it closed a door to a possible departure, something the Catalans were open to.

But staying at Barcelona is also not doing him much good, as he has only accumulated 132 minutes so far this season, and most of these minutes have also come in the last moments of some matches. Currently, he stands last in the pecking order, even behind Pau Victor. Fati’s market value, which once stood at €80 million, has declined to €15 million.

In such circumstances, SPORT reports that Barcelona are willing to facilitate his departure in the winter if the player is looking for a new team to get more minutes. This was one of the subjects that the Catalan hierarchy discussed with Jorge Mendes, who also represents Fati, in a recent meeting.

Despite his low standing in the Barcelona team, the forward will not find it hard to find new suitors, as interest from Saudi Arabia has never waned, and some Spanish clubs like Sevilla are also interested in his services.
