Similar to the case of various stars before him, another one of the mainstays at Barcelona has recently suffered an injury. Adding to the injury list that already consists of players like Pedri and Frenkie De Jong, the name of Raphinha now finds himself added as well.

The injury suffered by the Brazilian winger only came recently in the clash against Sevilla on matchday eight of La Liga EA Sports 2023/24. During the game, Raphinha received a pass from Cancelo that he was then unable to properly control and lost balance over.

Falling down on the ground and then clutching his leg, it was looking quite likely that the 26-year-old had suffered some sort of problem with his hamstring. Now, some time later, it has been confirmed officially by Barcelona that the winger has indeed suffered a hamstring injury and will be out until he fully recovers.

However, just as journalist Achraf Ben Ayad had provided positive updates on Pedri’s recovery, he also states that Raphinha’s recovery time may not be prolonged either and there is ‘optimism’ within the club regarding the Brazilian’s situation.

For now, the journalist claims that the club has positive feelings about the 26-year-old making his return after the upcoming international break. Slated to take place from the 10th of October, Barcelona will be out of action until the 23rd of October when they face off against Athletic Bilbao.

This should give Raphinha plenty of time to recover and the journalist believes his return may take place at some point either against Bilbao itself or perhaps alongside Pedri at the El Clasico.

The other case remains that of Frenkie De Jong, whose recovery is expected to take longer but there remains a slight chance that even he may feature against Los Blancos for Barcelona if an absolute necessity to have him available arises.
