The successful league campaign of FC Barcelona is coming to an end, and the club is almost guaranteed to come out as the Champions of Spain when the league ends.
This successful season warrants a period of celebration for the individuals associated with the club, but there are questions even about these celebrations at the moment.
According to SPORT, preparations for a parade celebrating the victorious league campaign is being planned at Barcelona. However, there are doubts about who will be attending this parade.
The current members of the FC Barcelona squad will all be participating in the parade. However, there are a number of players who have played a part in this league campaign but are no longer associated with the club.
The most conspicuous of these former players is Gerard Pique, who announced his retirement in the middle of the season in December. However, before his retirement, the player had been involved in six La Liga matches with the Blaugranes, and thus has played a direct part in the club’s Liga triumph.
Thus, Pique has every right to attend the parade, and he is expected to be invited to this event as he has been invited to previous club events since his retirement. Xavi also has announced that Pique will be one of the former players who will be invited to participate in the parade.
Other players who have played a part in this triumph, no matter how insignificant, include Hector Bellerin, Memphis Depay, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Aubameyang played only a few minutes in the league match against Rayo Vallecano before he was transferred to Chelsea.
Similarly, Depay participated in two Liga games with the Blaugranes before his transfer to Atletico Madrid was finalized in the winter transfer window. Hector Bellerin had three Liga appearances with Barcelona, before joining Sporting CP.
Thus, all these players have played a part in Barcelona’s league triumph, but their association with rival clubs will make a decision to attend the Barcelona parade quite complex for the players and the club.
