After returning to the 1:1 status at the start of this year, FC Barcelona were looking to bring in some attacking reinforcements for Hansi Flick for the second half of the season.
However, despite their change in status, the Blaugranes needed to generate some funds before they could sign but were unable to do so as none of their exit-listed players wanted to leave.
Next summer, the Catalans will face another similar situation, as they will again be looking to sell some players to make room for new reinforcements. In this regard, Fichajes has already identified three players whom Barcelona will be looking to sell after the end of this season.
One of these players is the goalkeeper Iñaki Peña, who was the starter for Hansi Flick after Marc-André ter Stegen’s injury but has lost his starting spot to Wojciech Szczęsny since the start of 2025. The 25-year-old La Masia graduate’s contract is ending in 2026, but he will be looking to leave this summer.
The player himself wants to remain in La Liga, but Barcelona will be looking to sell him to a foreign club to get a more profitable deal.
Another player whom the Blaugrana side will be looking to sell next summer is the Danish center-back Andreas Christensen. The Dane has played only 1 game so far in the season, the first game of the season against Valencia, and has not been able to play since then because of his physical problems.
As a result, Hansi Flick has made it clear to him that he will not be needed in the team going forward, and several Premier League clubs are interested in his signing.
Lastly, Ansu Fati is another player whom Barcelona will be looking to sell in the coming summer. The Spaniard has played only 186 minutes this season, and he looks highly unlikely to make a place for himself in the team, especially considering how other forwards like Raphinha, Lewandowski, and Yamal are playing this season.
So far, he has resisted the pressure to leave the Blaugrana side, but it remains to be seen if he will accept the reality and give up on his dreams of succeeding at Barcelona to join another side this summer.
