FC Barcelona under Hansi Flick has emerged as a free-flowing team that scores a lot of goals. They started the season with three narrow 2-1 wins before the floodgates opened. In their last three games in the league, they have scored 16 goals and conceded just two.
Their attack, mostly comprising of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal has been on fire so far this season with the three players combining to devastating effect and chipping in with both goals and assists.
As per SPORT, Barcelona players continue to dominate the table for the Pichichi race. It is an award that is given to the top goalscorer in the league and there is a good chance that a player from Hansi Flick’s team wins it this season.
Robert Lewandowski tops the charts with six goals from six games, although that must be seven if not for his missed penalty. Raphinha follows him closely at second with five goals. Lamine Yamal is currently fifth with three goals and Dani Olmo also has the same number of goals.
The players currently fourth and fifth on the list are Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe and Villarreal player Ayoze Perez. It is worth noting that three out of the four goals that the Frenchmen have scored so far have come from the spot.
Going forward, Barcelona will have to continue performing at a similar level without Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who had to be stretchered off in the clash against Villarreal. Inaki Pena will have to step into the club captain’s shoes for a significant period of time.
Barcelona can only hope that the attack keeps firing on all cylinders going forward as this doesn’t look like a team that is going to be built on defensive solidity. The number of injuries in defense will not allow Flick to do that.
On the other hand, if the team can ensure that they outscore their opponents in every game, it promises to be a very exciting team to watch, and let’s see how Hansi Flick goes about it.
