The last few days have seen the transfer market drama involving FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Julian Alvarez intensify significantly. After weeks of reports claiming the Catalans sustained intent to land the Argentine and the Colchoneros’ clear stance on not negotiating a departure, another significant event happened last night.

After playing in the World Cup game between Argentina and Austria, the player talked to the media, and publicly declared his desire to leave the Madrid club. The Blaugranes were reportedly already counting on him to make such a public statement, and the next days could see the two clubs starting negotiations for him.

Meanwhile, according to a report from SPORT, the Barcelona squad it quite delighted with these latest actions of Julian Alvarez. This is clear from some of the reactions their players have made to social media posts reporting the Argentine’s comments.

For instance, Gavi liked a post by SPORT in which the Spanish publication had reported Alvarez’s statement, while Fermin Lopez did the same to a post published by the journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Furthermore, the report goes on to claim that while other players have not made such public declarations, they are still excited to have the spider in their team for the next season and have been happy with his recent statements.

Naturally, the Barcelona offices would also have liked these comments made by the former Manchester City forward a lot, as they significantly enhance their bargaining position in potential negotiations with Atletico Madrid for the star forward.

Furthermore, the fact that Julian Alvarez decided to make these statements in the middle of a competition as big as the World Cup only goes on to show how eager he is to leave his current club, and maybe to join Barcelona, and hopefully, his dream would be realized as soon as possible.
