Throughout this summer transfer window, FC Barcelona have been trying to reinforce their attacking line. The Catalans are looking for a left winger in particular, and with their first priority target, Nico Williams, now seemingly almost out of their hands, there are other options emerging for them in the market.
Recently, the media was rife with reports of Barcelona being linked with the Italian winger, Federico Chiesa, who currently plays for Juventus. It is reported that he, along with Kingsley Coman, is one of the main candidates the Blaugranes have to reinforce the left-wing position, with Chiesa being a budget option.
The Italian winger is not going to have an important role in his current team, as Thiago Motta is looking to revolutionise this Juventus team in the months to come. Thus, the Old Lady is willing to part ways with him this summer.
Meanwhile, Chiesa fulfils all the criteria that Barcelona are looking for in their target. Thus, the 26-year-old can be a very good market opportunity for the Catalan side.
With only a few days left in the summer transfer window, things are advancing at a rapid pace, and according to SPORT, Barcelona are already preparing to present an offer to Juventus. This proposal will offer a fee of €10 million for Juventus and a salary of €6 million, with further bonuses included, for the player.
However, while Juventus do not need Chiesa, they are also not willing to throw him away for peanuts. They are expecting to get around €15 million for him.
Meanwhile, the player himself is also keen for this move, as he likes Barcelona, both the city and the footballing project. His only notable condition is to be given a contract of at least 3 years.
Despite it looking like a highly achievable transfer, the Catalans will still have to do a lot of work to get it done. They will have to sell some of their unwanted players, or even let Gundogan leave for free to bring in new players.
The winger is knowledgeable of this situation and thus is also studying some other offers from the Premier League. Meanwhile, Inter Milan could be another option for him, but Juventus do not really want to see Chiesa join their league rivals.
