Although their attacking line has been performing at a very high level this season, the lack of depth in the Barcelona forward area can be a problem for the team. This was quite clear in the Blaugranes’ last game against Real Sociedad, as the Catalans’ forwards struggled to break down La Reale’s defense without Lamine Yamal on the pitch.

The Blaugranes were already looking to bring in a forward in the last summer transfer window and was closely linked with the Athletic Club winger Nico Williams. They were ultimately unable to land the Spaniard, but are still being associated with him, as well as with some other high-profile forwards like Rafael Leao.

Another winger they have been linked with recently is the Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Napoli forward is reportedly engaged in renewal talks with his club, but reports from Italy indicate that the two parties are quite far apart in their demands, and an agreement is unlikely to be reached soon.

PSG and Barcelona were reported to be two of his possible destinations if he decided to leave Napoli next summer.

Now, SPORT has provided a further update on this operation and the Spanish publication claims that Barcelona are already preparing a final offensive for Kvaratskhelia’s signing.

The report further claims that the player prefers joining Barcelona to PSG as the €80 million-rated winger believes he can win important titles with the Blaugranes.

The final price of this operation can reach up to €80 million for Barcelona. Although his release clause is higher, the tension between Napoli and the Georgian winger can bring his price down for the Catalans.

For now, Napoli are willing to meet his demands of €6 million a year in salary if he signs a longer contract and raises his release clause to €150 million.

These terms are not acceptable to the player, and he also believes this is the right time to take the next step in his career, and Spain remains one of his priority destinations.
