Ever since Lionel Messi left FC Barcelona, the relationship between the legendary player and the club seems to be broken. However, this relationship finally seems to be healing according to some recent media reports and Laporta’s recent comments.

Lionel Messi, after spending almost the entirety of his senior career at Barcelona, had to leave the club due to its weak financial situation. Some media outlets also reported that the relationship between Messi and Joan Laporta was not the best.

More credibility was afforded to such reports as no contact took place between Messi’s entourage and the FC Barcelona hierarchy, and the relationship between Messi and Barcelona was frozen for all this time.

This relationship now seems to be recovering. According to RELEVO, the club President Joan Laporta assures that Messi “has the doors open” at the Catalan club in his recent interview.

The Barcelona president further expressed himself this way. “The mark I’ve left [Messi’s exit] when I became the president was not good at all. I had to make a decision, which I was not satisfied with”

The broken relationship between the player and the club hierarchy was an anomaly, to begin with, but it needs to be mentioned that his relationship with the club’s fans always remained intact.

Thus, the recent comments from Laporta would go on to provide the fans with a cause for optimism and a piece of good news for the Camp Nou faithful, as this can ultimately pave a way for Messi making a return to Camp Nou for a last dance.
