Barcelona target Bernardo Silva

Barcelona President very ‘turned on’ by Man City midfield ace – Romero

For a club in financial distress, Barcelona are still keen to fight above their weight and make moves in the transfer market. The Catalan giants have always proven to be a force to reckon with when it comes to signing top commodities in the market, and it appears that the club is not giving up the hunt for additional recruits.

Having signed the likes of Inigo Martinez, Ilkay Gundogan, and Vitor Roque, the Catalan giants continue to pursue more signatures that can help bolster the squad ahead of next season.

According to Gerard Romero, one of the names high on Barcelona’s wishlist is Bernardo Silva and the Catalan journalist claims that “Laporta is very ‘turned on’ by Bernardo Silva.”

The Portuguese midfielder has been on the club’s radar for a while now, with a deal close to materializing last summer as well. However, the move failed to come to fruition due to financial limitations.

In the current economic climate, affording Bernardo still remains a far cry. But Laporta’s insistence to fight for all trophies, particularly the Champions League, may transform the deal into a reality.

After all, Bernardo played a pivotal role in City’s treble-winning campaign and produced an exceptional performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League Semi-Final. The player has shown the knack to perform at an exceedingly high level, with an understanding of positional play.

After officially presenting Gundogan as a Barcelona player, the Catalans are eager to pursue the signing of one of his former teammates. The pair created many fond memories with Manchester City, and now that Gundogan has arrived in Catalonia, his presence would likely lure Bernardo as well.
