Having suffered incessantly from injuries and fitness problems in his initial years at FC Barcelona, Ansu Fati is reported to be 100% fit now, and looking for opportunities in the starting lineup.
However, the lack of chances he is getting in Xavi’s setup has made other top clubs wary about his situation, and there is a growing interest in the player from clubs who want to pry him away from Barcelona.
Ansu Fati rose to prominence in FC Barcelona because of his goal-scoring exploits and poise in the final third area despite just graduating from the academy. However, injuries complicated his path to superstardom, which seemed to be his destiny as he started his career in the Barcelona first team.
Now, although he has recovered 100%, and has developed greater resistance to injuries, he is still not getting the chances in the first team for two reasons. Firstly, there is a high number of forwards available to Xavi, who has to manage their minutes carefully, and Fati’s form in recent appearances does not warrant a locked position in the starting lineup.
Secondly, Xavi is now playing with a 4 man midfield, which allows only two forwards to start, which further diminishes the chances of Fati getting opportunities. Fati is aware of the high hopes that Barcelona has in him, his agent, Jorge Mendes, is still in contact with some top European clubs.
Bayern Munich, Tottenham, and Arsenal have all inquired about the youngster, with the most clear interest is being shown by Manchester United. Laporta’s recent comments on this matter, in which he said that a sale would depend mainly on how much Fati can contribute to the team has furthered fanned the rumors of Fati being on the exit list.
Despite this interest, the Mundo Deportivo report claims that Fati is still intent on ignoring any advances from these clubs, and working to claim a spot in the starting lineup at Barcelona.
