FC Barcelona have a number of players on loan who will be returning to the club at the end of the season. Ez Abde is one such player returning from loan, and the club will have to make a decision about his future this summer.
Ez Abde has been the most impressive of the youngsters the club has sent out on loan this season. Playing with the Copa del Rey finalists, Osasuna, the Moroccan has been a key starter and has had several decisive moments throughout the season.
Owing to his impactful performances for Osasuna, it was previously reported that FC Barcelona might be tempted to keep this prized asset in their squad to bring more variety and power to their attacking line-up. However, a recent report from SPORT claims that the club is open to selling the forward this summer if a good offer comes in.
Barcelona signed Abde two years ago from Hercules for €2 million. He made his first start for the club under Ronald Koeman at a time when the club was missing its key players in attack. Xavi’s arrival as the head coach pushed him back to the B team, but his loan season with Osasuna has been brilliant.
The player himself knows how difficult it will be for him to continue at FC Barcelona, owing to the wealth of forwards the club already has, and the club is also not looking to loan him for another term. Thus, he will be a part of the players the club is working on selling this summer in order to obtain some much-needed cash.
The Premier League is increasingly looking like his next possible destination, but there is also interest from the Bundesliga. Xavi on the other hand, believes the player is too inconsistent and thinks Carrasco would be a better alternative in the squad.
