As FC Barcelona struggle to finalize certain operations such as registrations of current players and incorporating new signings given their limited economic allowance, the Catalan club has been looking towards other measures that can allow them to generate additional funds.
A lever associated with Barca Studios was also pulled and Barcelona tried to take advantage of that sale in a multimillion-euro deal that thus far has not fully materialized as the organizations involved have not sent their due payments yet to the Catalan club.
Consequently, given the urgency of Barca’s needs before the conclusion of the summer transfer window, the club is now looking for other similarly urgent methods to generate the required funds. One such measure is the sale or offloading of their players to either get a transfer fee or at the very least get their salaries off the record temporarily through a loan.
The most recent player to generate such interest in a sale is Marcos Alonso, according to details provided by Spanish outlet SPORT, who finds English Premier League outfit Manchester United interested in taking him away on loan to replace their own injured fullback, Luke Shaw.
Moreover, FC Barcelona has already received a formal proposal from Manchester United for the 32-year-old defender. As they look to check and assess if the operation truly benefits them, Barcelona will also keep in mind the interest of other teams in their current defender.
Another team reported to be interested in the Spaniard is fellow La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid, who could possibly integrate Alonso into the operation for 23-year-old forward Joao Felix, a player who has caught the attention of FC Barcelona himself and wishes to join the club.
For now, if the loan of Alonso does end up taking place to Manchester United, Barcelona would be able to clear up more of a salary margin which would then allow the Catalan giants more ease with which to register players with La Liga this season.
