Barcelona are currently still miles away from the ideal version that they would like to be. Due to their rather extreme financial limitations, the Catalan club can not even reinforce their team according to their primary desires. However, Barcelona have also worked out several alternative solutions.

Yet, despite their obvious economic difficulties, La Blaugrana have managed to strengthen their side to an extent. The club even managed to sign and register Vitor Roque in time for the first game of 2024. While that may have been a great display of working things out, Barcelona have even bigger plans for the future.

One of the names that will be involved in those future plans is that of Estevao Willian. According to the latest information from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are now committed to bringing the Brazilian wonderkid over to Spain.

Nicknamed ‘Messinho’, the 16-year-old attacking midfielder is a great admirer of Barça’s. Just as FC Barcelona would love to have him at the club, Messinho would be just as happy to join. Many European clubs apart from just the Catalans would be willing to come after him, however.

Despite previously believing his incorporation to be difficult, Barcelona are now ready to pursue their young target again. However, it will still not be an easy objective for the club. The Brazilian’s release clause remains set at €60 million, a price Barcelona can barely touch right now.

However, MD claims that had it not been for Barça’s economic problems, they would have already signed the player. Yet, they are aware of the youngster’s desire to become a Blaugrana player. For this reason, they have been in contact with his agent, Andre Curry.

In fact, both the player and his agent believe FC Barcelona is the right place for his progression. Consequently, Estevao Willian reportedly even has an agreement with his current team, Palmeiras, to respect his wish to join Barcelona. Moreover, the Brazilian team is willing to recognize this agreement but wish for Barça to enter negotiations first.

Barça hopes to agree a stalled payment with Palmeiras for their young starlet. As per FIFA’s rulings, the youngster can not move to Europe until he is 18 years old. This would mean that Estevao would only really be eligible to head over to Spain in 2025. Barça themselves, for this exact reason, wish to pay for the player in instalments.

The hypothetical payment, whatever it may be, is something Barcelona hope to thus pay in portions before 2025. Knowing that they have the support of the youngster, both Palmeiras and Barcelona recognize the validity of where he wishes to go.

The only concern for Barcelona remains the prospect of another club jumping in with a ridiculous offer that distracts Palmeiras. For this reason, it would be advisable for Barcelona to reach an agreement officially with the Brazilian team.
