As more time passes, FC Barcelona can receive more information about any given player’s injury. Early tests often show initial signs of any particular kind of injury but more tests are always important to know the exact severity. Unfortunately, FC Barcelona will not exactly be thrilled to find out the latest update on their injured player.

Pedri, aged 21, was recently involved in a grand clash between Spain and Germany in the European Championship. While many expected him to be a key figure in the game, the young Barcelona star was ultimately injured early on by Real Madrid midfielder and German star Toni Kroos.

Initially, reports from Spain suggested that the player may have an internal lateral sprain in his left knee. However, the exact severity and grade of that injury was relatively unknown at the time. In the latest update, however, it would appear that the reality of the injury may not be what Barcelona wanted to hear.

As per the official report from the Spanish Football Association, the recent medical tests carried out have revealed that the 21-year-old Barcelona midfielder suffers a grade 2 internal lateral sprain. His left knee is compromised for now and this injury will take some time to recover from.

While they may not have mentioned an official recovery time, it is suspected that Pedri could be in recovery from anywhere between 6-8 weeks.

However, they have confirmed that the Barcelona star will remain in Germany until the end of the European Championship in order to be with the Spanish National team that he helped to reach the stage they are even at right now.

It remains to be seen just how long the player takes to recover in actuality. However, it should be safe to assume that the Barcelona star’s participation in the Euros is now over, and his pre-season with Hansi Flick may also now be in jeopardy.
