Barcelona are set to take on Rayo Vallecano in the La Liga in their third game of the new campaign. Hansi Flick’s team have gotten off to a perfect start with two wins from two games so far.

The Spanish side got past Valencia with a 2-1 win that was largely based on their impressive second-half performance. Their victory against Athletic Bilbao might have been by the same margin but the performance was much improved.

Ahead of the game, while fans have been waiting for the registration of Dani Olmo, there has been other news on this front. As per SPORT, Barcelona have confirmed the registration of Ansu Fati for La Liga and have also confirmed that he will wear the number 10 jersey.

The 21-year-old Spanish international is currently out injured but Hansi Flick has placed immense trust in him. Even after the game against Athletic, the German coach mentioned that he hopes Fati can return at the same level he showed in pre-season.

This is an immense show of faith from the club to persist with the La Masia graduate and let him have the #10 jersey going forward. Fans will be hoping Fati can return quickly from injury and contribute to the team.

Once tipped to be the next big thing coming out of La Masia, Fati’s career has stalled over the last three seasons. He has been through injury-hell so early in his career and has struggled to return to the levels he showed before those issues.

A loan move to Brighton & Hove Albion last season was expected to bring the best out of Fati and give him a platform where he would get regular game time. However, his time at the Amex did not turn out as planned.

Once Fati returns from injury, he will be buoyed to know that he has a manager who trusts in him. This season could decide the 21-year-old’s career in a Barcelona jersey and let’s see if he can take this opportunity and make himself a key part of the squad going forward.
