There is no doubt that FC Barcelona have been going through a difficult moment for some years now. The Catalans have been trying for years to come out of their economic and financial crisis, which is also having a clear impact on their sporting competitiveness in Spain and Europe.

While most things have gone wrong for the Blaugranes in the last few years, their youth academy, La Masia, still remains a ray of hope. Forced by their economic conditions to rely more on their own trained players, La Masia has helped Barcelona retain their traditional identity, while also getting the required results.

In this difficult time, the academy has provided the Catalan club with a very good crop of young players, with the likes of Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi already established as starters for the club.

In fact, as SPORT has reported, with most of La Masia graduates in their ranks, Barcelona have ranked first in Transfermarkt’s ranking of clubs with the most highly valued U-21 players.

The most reliable platform for player valuation has prepared their report on this aspect and checked the total value of the players below the age of 21 in clubs across the world, and Barcelona stood significantly higher than the likes of Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich.

According to their assessment, Barcelona have 14 under-21 players in their ranks, with a combined value of €444 million. Lamine Yamal and Gavi are the highest valued with €90 million valuation, followed by Pedri (€80 million), Alejandro Balde (€40 million), Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, and Vitor Roque (€30 million).

Other than Pedri and Roque, all of these Barcelona U-21 players have been trained at La Masia, while the other clubs in the ranking have mostly bought their highly valued youngsters.

Real Madrid, the second club in the ranking, has only four U21 players, but all of them are highly valued, with only Bellingham’s value going up to €180 million, while Camavinga also has a value of €100 million.
