As FC Barcelona prepare to bid their farewells to two of the greatest players that have ever donned the legendary Blaugrana colors, they invite another legend of their own to come attend. A legend whose tale at Barcelona may not have reached its ending just yet.

According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona have formally sent an invite to Barcelona legend and current Paris Saint Germain number 30 Lionel Messi, with the hopes that the Argentine will be able to attend the respective farewells of both Spaniards Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who also happen to be long time partners of Messi himself during his years at Barcelona.

Since Alba’s arrival at FC Barcelona in 2012 all the way to the departure of Messi in 2021, the trio of Messi, Alba, and Busquets have together held and lifted many trophies and won many competitions. 5 La Liga titles, 5 Copa Del Rays, 3 Spanish Super cups, 1 Fifa Club World Cup, and 1 UEFA Champions League were the titles achieved between the three of them.

In terms of the details regarding the farewells planned, the one set to be given to Sergio Busquets is scheduled to take place on the 31st of May while the one for Jordi Alba is scheduled for the 1st of June. The players will be addressing their farewells in a formal manner in front of a crowd of people connected to FC Barcelona in the Auditorium 1899 at Camp Nou.

Moreover, the players by then will already have had a farewell in front of their fans during the game against Mallorca at Camp Nou on the 28th of May.

The players will initially be greeted by a tunnel made by their teammates through which they will run as is tradition, and then make their way across the entire field and greet the fans on each end and will then be met by two individual videos for both Busquets and Alba as tributes to their time at FC Barcelona.
