There have been conflicting news about FC Barcelona being interested in the highly-rated Spain star, Dani Olmo, in the last few weeks.

Earlier, it was reported that a meeting took place between the Barcelona Sporting Director, Deco, and the officials of a representation agency, Juanma Lopez, Andy Bara, and Miquel Olmo, with the latter also being the player in question’s father.

His presence in the meeting led to speculation that this meeting was for the Spain star. However, another report emerged later that claimed that this meeting for actually for Mikayil Faye’s new contract negotiations.

Now, another report by Mundo Deportivo claims that this meeting was actually for Olmo, and it actually ended on a very good note with good harmony between the two parties.

Thus, it looks like Barcelona are very serious for the player this time around, and the player’s agents already know that he will be a top target for the Catalans this summer.

The agents also understand that Barcelona will ideally be looking to get the player tied up before the UEFA EURO 2024, so they do not have to pay extra if the player is able to enhance his value with his performance in this competition.

However, the Catalans still have to negotiate with RB Leipzig, and these negotiations are not expected to be easy in any way. The forward has a contract till 2027 with the German club, but will be able to leave for €60 million this summer.

Unfortunately for Barcelona, the German club is not willing to lower down the player’s price, and thus the Catalans will have to get funds through departures or sponsorships to be able to get him.

Still, Deco and the club also hope that the good relations with Olmo and his agents can still help Barcelona get his price reduced to some extent.
