Beyond just the stars on the field, Barcelona are attentive to prospects for the bench as well. The Catalan club has been put in a bit of a predicament with Xavi’s guaranteed departure, and they need a fix. To ensure this, Barcelona will have to make up their mind about their next coach.

There are currently several names on the table that must be looked at. Hansi Flick, Thomas Tuchel, and others from Germany are being regarded as being among the favorites. However, a certain name from the English Premier League also apparently has some suitors within Barcelona.

Roberto de Zerbi, the current head coach of Brighton in England, is a name that resonates well within Barcelona. The Catalan club sees him as a prospect worth considering for the managerial position, but there are some things that even he must do to ensure his arrival.

According to SPORT, Barcelona have no intentions of paying his active €15 million release clause. De Zerbi has been made aware of this, and he knows that to be seriously considered as the next Barcelona coach he has to have the letter of freedom to arrive as a free agent.

This is because the other names on the list of potential candidates for Barcelona would be arriving as free agents. Flick is already available, and Pini Zahavi is working on making him Barça’s next coach. Tuchel, on the other hand, will become a free agent in the summer as he is set to part ways with Bayern Munich.

However, on the other hand, the Italian coach is also a bit hesitant on making an early move. He is not willing to ask for the letter of freedom until and unless he is absolutely sure of landing the Barcelona head coach role. For him, it would be a goal worth going for, but Barcelona also have other priorities.
