The 2023 summer transfer window is set to commence in a few weeks and FC Barcelona executives have their hands full for the upcoming few months. There are several operations the club is currently undertaking, with getting new players in different positions as one of the club’s main objectives for the window.
According to SPORT, the club has set itself the target to completing its operations for incoming players by the time the team travels for its preseason tour of the USA. Currently, the club has a friendly to be played in Japan, which is scheduled to take place on June 6th, and involves a match against Vissel Kobe. After this friendly, the players will be released by the club for their holidays or international duties.
The squad will then reunite in Barcelona on the 10th of July. After some initial work in the club’s training facilities, the team will then commence its tour of the USA on 19th July, and play four games in the States. The first of these games will be played against Juventus in California, on 22nd July.
As the players will mostly be on holidays before this tour, the club’s hierarchy will be facing the most hectic part of the year. The club, particularly Alemany, will be looking to ensure that their targets for the summer are secured by the time the team travels to USA, and will have to give their all to achieve this.
The club is already in advanced stages of negotiations with a number of players, including Messi, Gundogan, Vitor Roque, etc. However, none of these transfers is finalized yet, and the club executives will have to ensure they keep the process on track to bring the players to Barcelona in this window.
The club also has a number of other operations to complete in this window, including player sales and contract renewals. However, the target is to complete any player arrivals before 10th July, so even the new comers can join the team for the preseason, and gel with their teammates going into the 2023-24 season.
