Barcelona set to announce €40 million financial injection soon

From a financial standpoint, FC Barcelona have hardly been the most competent club in the world. La Blaugrana are known for their thoughtless spending in recent years, and the problems that have been a consequence of them. However, at least from what is being reported, Barcelona are in a better position this summer.

Yet, despite that reportedly better position, Barça have been unable to sign any first-team players yet. Many believe that a major reason behind this inability to make signings so far is the unpaid amount from Libero that is still owed to Barcelona.

Fortunately, it seems that the Catalan club will soon be putting to bed that issue once and for all. According to SPORT, Barcelona have secured the backing of another sponsor and they will put the owed €40 million into the club’s coffers by today and it will not take long for Barça to officially announce it.

At some later point, the €60 million will also be paid back, but the urgency for that is not exactly there right now. Instead, this immediate injection would be very crucial for Barcelona and La Liga will use it to unlock many restrictions on the Catalan club and it may allow them to finally spend with some more freedom.

Most likely, their very first priority will be to sign and guarantee the arrival of Dani Olmo. The RB Leipzig star is the main player that Barça are currently pursuing and it is crucial for them to meet the demands being set by RB Leipzig for the player. Apart from him, at this point in time, no other clear target seems to be established.

For now, the club is waiting for the preseason tour to the United States of America to get wrapped up first. With just one game left against AC Milan, the FC Barcelona squad will soon return to Spain and meet up with the first team players who have already returned to the club facilities.
