With several departures lining up for Barcelona, the Catalan club will now look to reinvest the generated funds into players that could potentially improve the squad and enable them to be more competitive in the coming season.
Departures often take a sporting toll to some extent. For Barcelona, the same rule applies, particularly with the unforeseen departure of Ousmane Dembele to French side Paris Saint-Germain.
With the additional funds from the departures of several players and the injection of capital from other methods now almost guaranteed for Barcelona, they begin to formulate their financial offer for a certain Portuguese target.
As per Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona have reportedly formulated a financial package worth €65 million as a fixed amount alongside an additional €10 million in add-ons as their reported bid for Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.
The 28-year-old remains one of the most coveted stars among the finest that Europe has to offer, and Barcelona are keen suitors for his signature.
As per several sources, the player is quite inclined towards Barcelona and considers it to be an extremely attractive destination for himself. However, the main problem for Barcelona lies in convincing Manchester City.
Having already rejected a bid from PSG worth €80 million fixed for the Portuguese midfielder, the offer from Barcelona is understandably less lucrative but it is coming from an entity that Manchester City does not have particularly bad relations with.
In the case of PSG, on the other hand, Manchester City and the Parisian club already have reportedly strained relations, on top of Man City being owned by Abu Dhabi while PSG remains property of Qatar Sports Investments.
If Manchester City comply with the wishes of Bernardo Silva to leave, despite not wanting him to, Barcelona believe that their financial offer is adequate enough to convince the Citizens into letting the 28-year-old depart for the Spanish club.
