Andres Iniesta is one of the biggest FC Barcelona legends, and after spending almost his entire career at the club, he has been playing for the Japanese side Vissel Kobe. This chapter of his career is also approaching an end at the conclusion of the current season, and he could close his career in Japan in a memorable way.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Iniesta has already communicated his desire to leave the club at the end of the season to the authorities at Vissel Kobe. However, before leaving the club, Iniesta still has some matches to go. His last match for the Japanese side could very well be the one against his former club, FC Barcelona.
The two sides are planned to face off in a friendly match this summer after FC Barcelona have concluded their league season with a match against Celta Vigo. The friendly match will be played in Tokyo National Stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000 spectators.
Iniesta himself has been the bridge between FC Barcelona and Vissel Kobe in their negotiations for the holding of this exhibition match. While this could be Iniesta’s last match for Vissel Kobe, Mundo Deportivo reports that Iniesta is not yet done with playing professional football.
He intends to continue playing and is expected to join a side in the USA or the Middle East to keep on playing football. However, even if the player chooses to end his professional career as a footballer, he would not have any problems finding another job.
A few months ago, it was reported that Joan Laporta has offered Iniesta a role at the club. This role is not expected to be on the bench, but in the offices, with a role related to the youth team being the most probable.
