It is within the best interests of FC Barcelona that their star players be available as soon and as urgently as possible. Injuries have been a massive headache this season, and many key players have struggled individually as well. However, fortunately for Barcelona, they are much closer to returning than they were some weeks or months ago.

The likes of Ferran Torres, Frenkie De Jong, and Pedri are all gradually going to start coming back. From the start of the season up until this point, many key stars for Barcelona have suffered unfortunate injuries. Yet, there are some names who are still a long way away.

Such names include the likes of Alejandro Balde and Gavi. However, in a rather surprising fashion, Barcelona have received and provided an interesting update on the latter’s recovery. As highlighted by SPORT, Barcelona have provided new footage of Gavi continuing his recovery, this time at the beach.

Working on his core and leg strength from what it looked like, it is great news for Barcelona to see Gavi gradually finding his feet again. Injuries to the Anterior Cruciate Ligament are hardly ever easy to deal with, but the progression Gavi is making is something that Barcelona should draw hope and inspiration from.

Even in the footage, clear scars from the surgery can be seen on Gavi’s leg. Originally operated within the city of Barcelona itself, he was worked on by Dr. Joan Carles Monllau, and has since been in rehabilitation to recover at his best possible level.

While these updates are indeed positive and exciting, they have no short-term repercussions. The belief remains that Gavi’s return will ultimately have to wait until next season, but the summer should give him enough time to find his best physical health again.

For now, Barcelona continue to fight on in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. However, neither journey is easy and will need Barça to not slip up. Fortunately enough for them, their squad has proven to be resilient even in the darkest of moments.
