Barcelona prepare themselves to take on Real Sociedad at the Anoeta in San Sebastián. While the Catalan giants look strong in terms of mentality and determination, there are other issues. The primary news worth worrying about remains concerned with the department of injured players.

Just recently, Barcelona have released the official squad list for the clash against La Real. One of the most notable appearances within that squad list is that of Pedri.

The young Barcelona star finally returns to action since having been injured all the way back in August. However, there is also a notable name that is missing from the list.

Dutch Casualty

Dutch midfielder Frenkie De Jong still remains out of action for Barcelona. The 26-year-old Barcelona captain initially got injured in September during the game against Celta Vigo. Since then, he has been in recovery hoping to return as soon as possible.

Prior to the recent El Clasico, Frenkie De Jong was even participating in the group training. However, he was unfortunately unable to make it against Real Madrid and even now remains sidelined. Moreover, according to SPORT, the player may very well remain out for most of November.

Expected return

Expected to miss the Sociedad clash, the game against Shakhtar Donetsk, and even the match against Alaves, De Jong will likely return against Rayo Vallecano near the end of the month. Until then, Xavi and Barcelona will have their work cut out for them.

Fortunately for them, however, there is an international break taking place in between now and then. This will allow De Jong even more time to recover and reach his best fitness levels once again.

His absence has been felt greatly by the Catalan giants since he has been away. Struggling to dominate and control games as they are expected to, Barcelona eagerly await his return from injury.
