FC Barcelona has been the home of some of the best midfielders in the history of football. Legendary midfielders like Iniesta, Xavi, Rivaldo, and Laudrup have all played for Barcelona, and the club still has some of the best midfielders currently in their ranks.

One such midfielder that has been performing at a very high level despite his youth is Pedri. Pedri joined FC Barcelona from Las Palmas in 2020 and has been one of the most reliable midfielders in the Barcelona squad since then.

Pedri comments about his playing in the King’s League

Pedri’s performances for Barcelona and Spain have naturally attracted the attention of other major football clubs across Europe. However, the player himself has been clear that he only wants to remain at FC Barcelona and play for the Catalan team for years to come, as he is a Cule at heart.

However, in a recent interview, which has been reported by SPORT, Pedri confessed his desire to play in another competition.

Talking to Jacobo, one of the players for Porcinos FC, which is one of the participants in the King’s League, Pedri stated: “If I could, I would be in the King’s League,” Pedri further added that: “If I weren’t in the current context, playing for Barca, if I had the opportunity, I would have participated.”

Pedri starts his season flying with Barcelona

While Pedri could have been playing in the King’s League in an alternate history scenario, the fact is that he is currently happily playing for the Catalan giants.

The player has had a good start with his club to the new season, as he scored a goal to give Barcelona their first victory in La Liga, after combining with Ilkay Gundogan for the first goal against Cadiz.

Both Barcelona and Pedri are committed to each other, and Barcelona will be hoping that the Canarian can keep on his current track to become one of the best midfielders in the world.

Such a possibility does not seem to be too far, as Pedri has been playing at a very high level for some seasons now, and only has to perform in the Champions League to be recognized as one of best midfielders in the world.
