FC Barcelona do not have any games scheduled for the next few days as the November international break is currently underway. However, the Blaugrana fans will still have some action on display as Spain, with up to four Barcelona players a part of the Spanish squad, will be playing against Denmark and Switzerland.
Pedri, Dani Olmo, and Marc Casado were already a part of the Spain squad when Luis de la Fuente announced it. Later, Pau Cubarsi was also called up by the Spanish coach as another of his defenders, Pau Torres, suffered an injury and had to withdraw from these two games.
However, this does not mean Pau Cubarsi will be playing for his national side for these two games. This is clear from a report from SPORT, which reveals that Spain has already published its squad for the Denmark game, and Pau Cubarsi has not been included in this list.
Spain had called up 26 players for this international break but could name only 23 players for each match. Thus, in addition to Cubarsi, Bryan Zaragoza and Bryan Gil have also not been named in the squad for the Denmark game.
But Cubarsi’s absence is rather easy to understand, as the youngster received a severe blow to his face in the match against Red Star Belgrade, which required him to get up to 10 stitches on his face. He would have played with a protective mask even if de la Fuente had named him in the squad, but the Spanish tactician decided to provide the youngster with some rest.
The La Masia graduate will still be available for his national team for the next match against Switzerland on Monday, which will be the last game in the UEFA Nations League qualifiers. Spain need only one point against Denmark to ensure they finish the group stage as leaders.
