FC Barcelona managed to overcome Deportivo Alaves in their latest La Liga clash. The Catalan giants have managed to record a key victory for themselves just before the international break. However, even this victory is now being plagued with a certain incident.

It is beginning to seem that Barcelona simply can not stay away from controversy. Previously, Ilkay Gundogan’s harsh words created a negative atmosphere and it took time to sort out that misunderstanding. With those wounds still fresh, however, there is even more trouble brewing.

As highlighted by SPORT, the latest controversy involves Barcelona ace Robert Lewandowski. To be specific, a particular interaction of his with 16-year-old Lamine Yamal during the game was what has many people intrigued.

Near the 72nd-minute mark, Lamine Yamal attempted a strike that Alaves managed to save for a consequent corner. However, while others commended the youngster’s attempt, Lewandowski seemed distraught.

This became even more apparent as Yamal attempted to come close to him and offer a shake of the hand but Lewandowski seemed to outright ignore the youngster’s approach. Many on social media seem appalled by the veteran’s actions, given that he is seen as one of the leaders of the team.

Even the timing of this incident makes it feel far worse. Lewandowski recently seemed to ignore Xavi Hernandez as well following the clash against Real Sociedad. While there were reasons given for that, it seems that there is just no defending this rather childish behavior.

With an important stretch of the season coming up ahead, problems within the dressing room can not be tolerated. Barcelona need to be as united as possible and Xavi will need to address this issue himself as well.

The international break will allow Xavi and the staff to clear their heads properly, but will simultaneously worry them with the possibility of unwanted injuries.
