The end of economic misery for FC Barcelona is nowhere near in sight, although the Catalans have made significant progress towards getting healthier in the financial aspects in the last few years.

One of the most significant ways in which this economic privation is impacting Barcelona is by limiting their ability to operate within their FFP constraints to get new players. Thus, with an eye on further improving their squad, the Catalans are looking at any possible means available to enhance their income.

Possibility of a friendly in the coming months

According to Mundo Deportivo, one of the alternatives being considered by Barcelona to generate some extra income and thus improve its finances is organizing friendly games in the upcoming weeks and months.

The possibility of generating significant income from a friendly match is high, primarily because of the stars present in the current Barcelona squad. The club incorporated a number of celebrated players like Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Felix, and Joao Cancelo in the summer.

Furthermore, youngsters like Lamine Yamal are also getting popular, and there are already some established stars in the team like Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Gavi, and Araujo, etc. whom a lot of people throughout the world want to see in action.

Multiple time options for the match

The club is currently studying the possibility of playing a friendly in November or December, keeping in view the gaps in their schedule available in these months.

There is a slot available between the Real Madrid and Real Sociedad matches, scheduled for 28th October and 4th November, respectively, but the quality of these rivals might keep Barcelona from scheduling another match between these two ties.

Another possible time for such a friendly is after the international break in November, as Barcelona would have some days available, from 20th to 23rd November, before their match against Rayo Vallecano.

Barcelona will have a week without midweek games between the matches against Atletico Madrid and Girona in December.

Lastly, Barcelona can also schedule a friendly after the last game, on the 19th or 20th December weekend, before the Christmas break.

The club is still studying its options and setting a friendly in an already strenuous season can have negative consequences for the club. However, generating income is also essential for the club, and extreme measures might have to be taken.
