Hunting down talented prospects is something that Barcelona continues to devote their time to. Already home to several talented youngsters, La Blaugrana aspire to recruit from elsewhere as well. However, challenges beyond just the sporting element come up for Barcelona from time to time.

Their latest target, a young Swede currently playing for Djurgarden, is someone they believe is worth investing in. Following operations such as those of Ronald Araujo and Pedri, Barcelona are hungry to recruit new prospects. Such players can arrive at low costs, but their potential allows their value to skyrocket sooner rather than later.

As such, the name of Lucas Bergvall comes as a great revelation for Barcelona. The Swedish midfielder, aged 17, is among Sweden’s most promising talents at the moment. As such, Barcelona are quite eager to invest in his possible signing.

In fact, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have already raised their offer. Having reportedly sent a proposal previously as well, it seems that Barça are not willing to back down after an initial disappointment.

Their newest offer, as per MD, is stated to be around €6.5 million. Moreover, the report suggests that their main competition for the player’s signature arrives in the form of Eintracht Frankfurt. The German side is also keen on the young Swede, and will take on Barcelona for his acquisition.

As for the ideal asking from the player’s current Swedish club, it is reported that Djurgarden would ideally like to receive an offer beyond the €9 million mark for the player. However, Barcelona is currently unwilling to invest that amount in a singular player.

The player’s stance, on the other hand, remains clear. He continues to focus on his football, and while he claims to be proud that his ability is attracting so much interest, he still shares no light on where his future could lie:

“I am proud that my club is asking for so much money. But Djurgarden and my agents will take care of that. I don’t know where I will play next season.”
