Injuries have been a constant issue for FC Barcelona and many other major European teams. With an even more demanding calendar now and little to no time for respite, teams are constantly being put under more pressure. For Barcelona specifically, however, injuries have been a major cause for distress.

While they are a normal part of the game, it becomes evidently more frustrating when these injuries take place during the international break. While the National team coaches will likely miss these players for one or two games during that break and will possibly have them fully recovered by the next international break, their club sides suffer in between.

Gavi has already been a casualty of this and now Lamine Yamal continues to be overextended, but another Barcelona player is also currently at-risk of having been injured already. Luis de la Fuente, the Spanish National team coach, recently confirmed himself that Barcelona star Dani Olmo had indeed suffered a knock against Serbia.

However, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo in the latest update, the Barcelona summer signing is currently undergoing medical tests in Geneva ahead of the game between Spain and Switzerland. The main focus of these tests is to check if the Spaniard has any issues with his right knee and to diagnose him accordingly.

While there are hopes that the knock is not too serious and it is still not completely ruled out if he ends up featuring against Switzerland or not, as MD reveals, but it is also true that Luis de la Fuente confirmed that no unnecessary risks will be taken with players who are risk of injury.

The knock itself came in the game against Serbia near the 67th minute, where the Barcelona forward clashed with a Serbian player as they contested for a ball. However, it must be remembered that Olmo stayed on the field until the 82nd minute before being replaced and that may be some evidence to hold onto in terms of hoping the player makes a comeback sooner rather than later.
