With the arrival of Deco as the new Sporting Director of FC Barcelona in the stead of the departed Jordi Cruyff, as well as the imminent departure of Director of Football Mateu Alemany, expected to take place in the beginning of September, Barcelona are undergoing some massive changes in the structure of the club’s management.
According to AS, Bojan’s role within the team could potentially be to act as a liaison and counsel for stars dwelling between the Barcelona first team and the subsidiary simultaneously, already struggling with the fame and pressure that comes as a result of being a player of FC Barcelona.
These issues are something that perhaps no one understands better than the 32-year-old former Barcelona player, who himself was subject to the pressures and the toll of having to be thrown in the spotlight with massive expectations much earlier than he should have been.
Current Barcelona players such as Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez would be exactly the kind of youngsters that could look to Bojan for advice and guidance, and Barcelona may look to incorporate their former academy product in this very role to ensure a sustainable development for their academy talents moving forward.
