The last summer transfer window was a very eventful one for FC Barcelona. The club did not only bring in important reinforcements for the current team, including Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Cancelo, Joao Felix, and Oriol Romeu, but also signed one of the most promising players in the world, Vitor Roque, for the future.
However, the player has not yet arrived in Barcelona, and it was decided that he will be incorporated into the Catalan club’s squad either in the winter or next year’s summer transfer window.
Barcelona to make a decision about Roque
SPORT now reports that the club has reached a decisive moment in regards to the incorporation of this player, as Barcelona has set 15th November as the deadline to make a decision on whether he will arrive in the winter or in the summer.
The Sporting Department of the club is pushing for his incorporation in the winter window, as there is no natural substitute for Robert Lewandowski in the current squad, and Roque’s arrival can give Xavi a real option to rest Lewandowski and also get the Brazilian in top shape before the next season.
Roque currently recovering from injury
The forward is currently recovering from an injury to his ankle that he suffered some months ago. He is expected to be given the green light to return to the field in the last days of this month, and he can play in the last few matches of the Brasileirao to help Athletico Paranaense qualify for the Copa Libertadores.
Deco has already recognized Vitor Roque as a player that can be incorporated into the club in the winter window, in spite of the financial difficulties being faced by Barcelona. If things go as expected, Roque will be the only signing for Barcelona in the winter transfer window.
However, the Brazilian cannot be incorporated with the current financial conditions of the club, and Laporta’s administration will have to work extremely hard to make his move possible by January.
