The registration dilemma at FC Barcelona poses a significant hurdle for the Catalan giants to surmount, especially given the limited time remaining before their official La Liga campaign begins against Getafe on Sunday.
Several players within the team, including new arrivals and those who have recently agreed to contract renewals, remain unregistered.
As such, the €120 agreement with German investment fund Libero for the acquisition of a percentage of Barca Vision became integral in ensuring that FC Barcelona could secure the registration of the thus far unregistered players in the squad.
However, according to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, Barcelona will not be immediately registering all of the players yet to be registered and will prioritize certain players more so than others, to begin with.
The players that the journalist claims will be prioritized first and foremost are Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo, who remains arguably Xavi’s most valuable defensive player, as well as new German arrival Ilkay Gundogan, as his presence and experience in midfield could be crucial for the Catalan giants.
With this, it becomes apparent that the registration process may take longer than previously expected at FC Barcelona and it may be certain that specific players get registered according to the needs of Xavi Hernandez.
At the moment, it is reported that only eleven players in total are registered within the records of La Liga with those players being Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie De Jong, Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen and Ter Stegen.
