FC Barcelona have parted with some players this summer with the most prominent ones being Ousmane Dembele, Franck Kessie, and Nico Gonzalez. Nonetheless, the Catalans haven’t completed all the intended player departures during this summer transfer window, and additional exits might also occur in the upcoming days.
One of the players who is quite close to an exit from FC Barcelona is the French defender, Clement Lenglet. A report on his status has been published by the Spanish outlet SPORT, which claims that a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow in Barcelona to decide whether Lenglet should be sold to the Saudis.
Lenglet was previously close to a move to Tottenham, but an agreement between Barcelona and the Premier League side could not be reached, and Juventus and AC Milan also showed an interest in the player.
Lenglet’s desire was to go permanently to Tottenham this summer, after having spent the last season on loan with them, however, the English club wanted to pay only a token transfer fee, while Barcelona wanted around €15 million.
The Catalans have not registered him and do not intend to do so unless it is particularly necessary to do so. Meanwhile, Al-Nassr are also on a charm offensive to convince Lenglet to a move to Saudi Arabia and Barcelona also prefer this move because they believe they will get a higher transfer fee from the Saudis.
However, Lenglet has yet to take a decision regarding the move, but may eventually be convinced as Saudi Arabia now has a number of high-profile stars playing in their top league.
