The situation for FC Barcelona seems dire this season, but it may not improve anytime soon. Already struggling on the pitch, their woes keep on piling up on all fronts it seems. Even in terms of the latest injuries, Barcelona have hardly been able to catch a break.

However, it seems that these bad omens and less-than-ideal situations will continue into the summer transfer window. Unlikely to have huge resources to make moves, Barça would have to stick to risk-free agreements. As such, a certain name has once again resurfaced for Barcelona.

According to SPORT, Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is a name that currently entices Deco. Given their economic limitations, and the fact that the Italian is going to be out of a contract in the summer, his arrival as a free agent is not something that the Barcelona director frowns upon.

Moreover, with his proven quality, Deco thinks of him as a player who would improve the team. Already a player with elite levels of experience, having won the European championship with Italy and even the Champions League with Chelsea, he would be a good candidate to consider as per the report.

However, his signing would go against the attempts of Barcelona to stop signing players over the age of 30. Yet, due to their limitations as to who they can sign, it becomes rather impossible to have everything as per their wishes.

With Joan Laporta and Deco also looking to incorporate quality wingers and pivots into the team, the budget is already water-tight. Add to that the hopes of permanently signing Joao Cancelo, and the summer becomes a rather tense affair for Barcelona to navigate through.

Until and unless some major sales take place, Barcelona will remain rather limited in their transfer operations. Players like Frenkie De Jong and Ronald Araujo could possibly generate sizeable revenue, but the conflict between the financial benefits and the sporting benefits continues to plague Barça’s decisions.
