The reinforcements that FC Barcelona have already managed to bring in this summer contain some quality players that the club hopes will provide depth, experience, and talent to their otherwise young and growing squad.
Moreover, in their quest to achieve and assemble a team that could very well put FC Barcelona on the map once again when it comes to being top European challengers, Barca have set their eyes on a few other top-level players that they believe would take the team a step further.
However, they are set to be met with a rather hurting and disappointing reality check. One particular talent is set to become nothing more than a dream for Barcelona as he looks the other way towards France and the Middle East.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona target and current Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is set to become a primary target for both French side Paris Saint-Germain and the Saudi Arabian interest from the Middle East, leaving Barcelona behind.
While it remained true that the Portuguese star valued Barcelona, it is also heavily believed that in the scenario that the 28-year-old ends up leaving his current club, he would most likely leave for either the Parisian club or go off to Saudi Arabia.
The player currently earns a reported €8 million, a figure that while PSG may offer more than, and Saudi Arabia certainly will, given their speculated offer of €40 per season, Barcelona at the same time cannot match either offer and nor can they meet the demands of Manchester City for their Portuguese star.
A player that the Catalans have followed for quite some time, his arrival at Barcelona is possibly yet again threatened as the club has already faced several issues over the last few seasons whenever they have attempted to sign him.
It remains to be seen just what the future holds for Bernardo Silva, but it seems to be getting likelier day by day that it would be difficult that FC Barcelona has a place in it.
