For FC Barcelona, the summer transfer window will present an opportunity to reinforce the team. While it is still some time away, the Blaugranes are aware that it is a chance they should be prepared for. However, it is not only arrivals that Barcelona is most concerned about.
In fact, many of the major concerns in the summer could also be about departures. At the moment, Barcelona are essentially focused on trying to find a proper balance between which objective requires more attention. However, there is one specific team Barcelona may have to see a lot of in the summer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Girona is interested in dealing with Barcelona over the futures of several players. Likewise, even the Catalan giants are hopeful about reaching a positive understanding over some players with their Catalan neighbors.
To be precise, there are six players in total that Barcelona and Girona may have to hold talks over. These include players that Barça wants to sign and also players that Girona may be interested in acquiring.
Aleix Garcia (wanted by Barcelona):
The captain and primary midfield lieutenant of Girona, Aleix Garcia, is a player on Barça’s agenda. Barcelona consider him a great bet for the summer and his release clause of €20 million is enticing. Moreover, La Blaugrana believe they can decrease this price even more by including other players in the deal.
Pau Victor (wanted by Barcelona):
A player on loan from Girona, Pau Victor has been quite the wave in the subsidiary. With 14 goals already to his name, he has scored more than 30% of the total goals scored this season by Barcelona Atletic. His performances have been so instrumental that Barcelona are willing to trigger his €3 million buy option.
Eric Garcia (could stay at Girona):
The Spanish central defender, on loan from Barcelona, is playing well at Girona. A stable starter for Michel’s team, the Catalan club where he is playing this season may look to purchase him indefinitely and Barcelona could look at this to help their offer for the other Garcia.
Pablo Torre (could stay at Girona):
The case of Pablo Torre, however, is a more frantic one. Not exactly an undeniable asset for Girona, he is still loaned away by Barcelona. In the event that Girona does not go for him, he could end up returning to Barça.
Mikayil Faye (wanted by Girona):
Teams from across Europe, including Girona, want Mikayil Faye. A promising goliath in the Barcelona subsidiary, purchased in the summer from the Croatian league, his development has been fantastic and he continues to aim for the Blaugrana first team.
Oriol Romeu (wanted by Girona):
A player who did not exactly make the impact he would have hoped for, Oriol Romeu’s future at Barcelona is jeopardized. However, if reports are to be believed, Girona may be more than happy to take him back after selling him to Blaugranes in the summer.
