FC Barcelona have patiently endured La Liga’s approval for the feasibility plan. As they edge closer to the ultimate outcome, all signs have been leading towards a positive response. The club has drawn up several possibilities for a successful summer, with priorities already shortlisted.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the club is pursuing two major goals this summer.
Contract Renewals:
Registering two of the team’s cornerstones remains a considerable goal. Once La Liga gives the go-ahead, Barcelona aim to ensure the dangling issue of contract registrations is immediately solved.
Firstly Ronald Araújo and Pablo Gavira are set to be tied down with their upgraded contracts. The duo renewed until 2026, playing a crucial role over the course of the season thus making their continued involvement an undeniable priority. Considering Araújo and Gavi’s importance, the updated contracts are quintessential to deter any foreign clubs from sweeping in.
Once their contracts are officially documented by La Liga, other inquiries can be made with the likes of Roberto and Alonso. The case of Alejandro Balde will also gain importance as the youngster’s exquisite performances have warranted an evolved contract.
Messi’s Homecoming:
However, apart from the renewals, another significant priority remains the arrival of the legendary Argentine: Lionel Messi. Barcelona yearn to create their project around him for next season, but a written offer has not been sent yet. Any concrete proposals will only be possible once La Liga grants access to the Catalan giants.
Messi’s camp has been increasingly open towards a return to Barcelona as Leo’s exit from the Parisian club appears unavoidable by now. While the 7 time Ballon d’Or winner reportedly received a bumper offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, his priority is seen to be a continuation of European football.
Despite a great deal of planning done for the summer, the Blaugranas are persistent on finalizing the primary concerns. Messi’s homecoming and continuation of Araújo and Gavi are seen as the most pressing matter.
