Reinforcements from recovered injuries are always a good sign for Barcelona as they look to reassemble their full squad in its entirety back together without any absentees. The news of Pedri’s return date is now circulating, but it appears that another young prodigy will soon return as well.
19-year-old Angel Alarcon is a striker who primarily plays for Barcelona Atletic at the moment, with occasional appearances for the first team as well due to the level and quality Xavi Hernandez has seen in him.
For over four months now, he has remained out of action due to a concerning muscle injury that occurred in May of this year and was already forecasted back then to keep him out for anywhere between 4-5 months of football. However, this time around it is positive news that awaits the Catalan club four months later.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 19-year-old striker has almost completely recovered and has been actively partaking in training with Barca Atletic for almost a week now. If the new forecasts are to be believed, he will be available for selection for their upcoming games.
Consequently, he will also be available for Xavi Hernandez in the Barcelona first team as he simultaneously remains a registered squad member for the UEFA Champions League Group Stages that Xavi listed the youngster in due to his stunning potential.
A team that already needs more reinforcements in the offensive given the departures of Ousmane Dembele, Ez Abde, and Ansu Fati for this season, Alarcon’s return is sure to be positive news for Xavi Hernandez as he will keep the spot in his squad guaranteed for Alarcon once he makes his complete recovery and is able to provide some much-needed depth to Barcelona.
Despite the fact that Xavi maintains the utmost confidence in his abilities, Alarcon has not yet played a singular game of football since May and will understandably need time to get back to his best before he can return to the level he showcased before his injury took place.
