Barcelona believe that they must indeed make a formal move soon given the likelihood that Manchester City accepts their proposal at a point where they would have no time to search for an alternative would be very unlikely.
The earlier words of Pep Guardiola also resonate within the offices of Barcelona as he stated that despite his admiration for Bernardo Silva, he would not forcefully keep a player against his will at the club.
