The expected arrival of various talents at FC Barcelona brings about a sense of excitement and joy that few other occasions possibly could for fans of the Blaugrana, as they look ahead to the upcoming season.
In order to compete for both European and domestic success, Joan Laporta and his fellow board members believe that the incorporation of top-level talents will be crucial in maintaining and sustaining the quality that Barcelona have come to showcase under the guidance of Xavi Hernandez last season.
One such talent is an 18-year-old prodigy from Brazil, who has come into the spotlight of European football courtesy of his amazing goalscoring ability that he has continued to portray in South America.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are closing in on the signing of Athletico Paranaense ace Vitor Roque, with only a matter of documentation being submitted in order to finalize his arrival.
The 18-year-old forward has thus far been exceptional in showcasing his elite talents in Brazil and has accordingly piqued the interest of various European heavyweights, out of which Barcelona have made the most advancements.
In fact, it is widely reported that the Catalan club has agreed a deal in place for €35 million + €10 million in variables as the transfer fee for the Brazilian, and that Barcelona has also agreed personal terms with the youngster, who considers La Blaugrana a priority.
Whilst Barcelona continue work in Turkey on the Arda Guler deal, Laporta’s confirmation regarding Vitor Roque’s operation also puts those at ease who were concerned about this particular transfer.
Barca are adamant on bringing him to the club this summer in order for him to shadow Robert Lewandowski as his alternative and secondary striker, but for that to happen they must first offload unwanted players to generate enough space for his registration.
Being unable to do so will mean that the Catalans will have to wait until 2024 to bring Roque over to Catalonia, which is a scenario more preferred by his current Brazilian side.
