FC Barcelona have been plagued with significant injury woes during the 2022-23 season, with several key players sidelined for extended periods. While the club continues to push for La Liga title, the team has struggled to maintain consistency on the pitch due to the absence of key contributors.

Most notably, Pedri, Ousmane Dembélé, Frenkie de Jong and Christensen have all suffered injuries at different points throughout the season, further compounding the team’s struggles. With Pedri and Dembele having been out for months, things look to finally be going in the right direction.

In a piece of exciting news for Camp Nou faithful reported by journalist Victor Navarro through his Twitter handle, midfielders Pedri and Frenkie de Jong, along with winger Ousmane Dembélé, have completed the entire training session with the team. It was also stated that all of these three players are expected to receive the medical green light ahead of the game against Atletico Madrid.

Pedri has been a staple in the Blaugrana team ever since his inclusion into the squad under Ronald Koeman, quickly becoming a fan favorite at Camp Nou and proving himself indispensable, while Frenkie De Jong has found his best position as part of the double pivot in Xavi’s four-man midfield system this season.

As for Ousmane Dembele, the French winger is finally living up to the heights once set out for him as Xavi has been able to get the best out of him. The trio’s absence was very heavily felt by the club as the injuries saw La Blaugrana get knocked out of the Europa League and the Copa del Rey.

The trio’s return comes at a crucial time for Barcelona, who are still pushing to secure their 27th La Liga title with Real Madrid preying on any opportunity to cut down the 11-point gap at the top. The Catalan giants are set to host Atletico de Madrid at Camp Nou on Sunday with the aim of securing all-important 3 points from this crucial fixture. The Camp Nou faithful will be hoping for Pedri, De Jong, and Dembele to return with a win against Diego Simeone’s side.
