With their latest triumph in the UEFA Champions League, FC Barcelona continue with their good form which has continued since the start of the season, and which makes them dream of winning all the big titles this season.

The Blaugranes have been in particularly excellent form this year, which is clear from the fact that they are still unbeaten in the three and a half months since the start of 2025.

The performances of their players on the pitch make the Catalan team one of the most exciting and fatal in Europe and Spain, and in contention for the treble.

Meanwhile, several players from the Barcelona squad are also enjoying a lot of personal glory and spotlight, and have emerged as early favourites for this year’s Ballon d’Or award. The most notable of these players are Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Pedri, who have all been quite excellent for Hansi Flick’s team this season.

In fact, as Mundo Deportivo has noted, the conclusion of the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League means the chances of the players lifting the most prestigious individual prize in Europe are significantly increased.

In addition to their own good performances, this round saw the elimination of another clear favorite for the Ballon d’Or award, Mohamed Salah. Liverpool were eliminated from the competition after losing against Paris Saint-Germain on penalties on the same night when Barcelona secured their passage to the quarter-finals.

However, they still have a significant lead over their rivals in the Premier League, and the Egyptian winger is not really out of the race for the Ballon d’Or.

Similarly, the Real Madrid duo of Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe also struggled as they faced Atletico Madrid in this round.

The Merengues were able to advance to the quarter-finals after winning on penalties, and thus remain alive in the UCL, and with their individual quality, can still emerge as favorites for the Ballon d’Or in the coming months.

But for now, several Barcelona players are seeing their chances of winning this trophy rise with every passing week.
