As FC Barcelona continue to plan for the upcoming season, one of the areas that they are looking to reinforce is the midfield, with a pivot high on the priority list for the Catalans.

As already reported, the Girona captain Aleix Garcia has been linked with Barcelona for this role for some time now. But another player who is liked a lot by Deco and the Catalan club in general is the Bayern Munich midfielder, Joshua Kimmich.

FC Barcelona even tried to get the German during the last summer transfer window, and Xavi himself tried to convince him to join. However, Bayern Munich themselves were not too willing to part with their star player for any amount.

However, things have changed now, and Bayern Munich are open to selling him for more than €60 million this summer. The main factor that has led to this change is the player’s contract, which expires in 2025, and Bayern Munich do not want to lose him for free.

But according to SPORT, Barcelona have already communicated to Kimmich that it will be impossible for them to sign him this summer unless they can earn a significant amount from sales, but would be more than willing to sign him if he leaves Bayern in 2025 as a free agent.

The Catalans have presented an ambitious project to convince the midfielder, one which involves the upgradation of the stadium and a significant improvement in finances which will allow for the inclusion of more top-quality players.

For now, everything depends on the player himself, as he has offers on the table, and clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United, PSG, and Chelsea have already undertaken contacts with his entourage. Bayern themselves will do everything to ensure they do not lose the player for free.

Note: The player’s valuation mentioned in the title [ €75m ] is obtained from transfermarkt.com and is accurate as of the publication date.
