FC Barcelona are no strangers to revelations regarding new and upcoming talents from La Masia. They have been well recognized and reputed as one of the frontrunners in global football when it comes to youth development. Over the recent few weeks in the 2022/2023 footballing season, Barcelona have had to suffer and endure injury problems affecting their key players. To curb the repercussions of said forced breaks, Xavi Hernandez has turned his eye to the players of La Masia.
The talents from the subsidiary that Xavi has invited to train with the first team have come to include some regulars such as Lamine Yamal, Marc Casado, Aleix Garrido, Estanis Pedrola, and Angel Alarcon among others. However, a new name may soon be ready to join them on a regular basis, who is now catching the eye of the coach and brings himself a reputable value held by the club for him.
Juvenil B center-back Pau Cubarsi becomes the latest addition to this assortment of talents that Xavi has included in his training sessions. The 16-year-old will soon be eligible to also sign his first professional contract when he reaches the age of 17 in January of the upcoming year.
Right-footed and possessing the standard traits of a centreback, the player is noted to be solid in possession of the ball, having great leadership skills and a competent force to be reckoned with in duels for the ball itself. Moreover, in November of last year, he also became the third youngest player from Barcelona to feature in the UEFA Youth League.
The player has also become a favorite of sorts in the junior divisions of the Spanish National Team. Having made a total of 21 appearances across the under-15, under-16, and under-17 sides. Reports suggest the coaches of the Spanish team admire his quality and potential a lot.
Barcelona have been trying to tie down the player to a longer contract, something the player himself feels positively towards.
